Adjusting the Heat Profile

The heat profile guidelines described provide a starting point and should be adjusted to produce the best melt quality at the lowest possible moldable temperature with all heater band zones cycling. Molding cycles may be reduced by adjusting the temperature downward, starting in the front zone and moving each zone back (lower) ten degrees at a time (allowing adequate cycles to evaluate each adjustment). The “acid” test is the check of the hydraulic pressure or electrical energy required to rotate the screw during recovery.
